Our riverbug tour starts at the iconic Poripori Water Holes on the Wairoa River near Tauranga. Kitted out in wetsuits, safety gear, funky webbed gloves and flippers, we carry our bugs to the river to try them out. It’s super easy to learn and loads of fun! 

Against a backdrop of native forrest we explore the Wairoa’s amazing geology drifting through deep pools, sliding between rocks and down small drops amongst the Wairoaʻs impressive pot-holes carved out of the bedrock by stones and water. Splash around, try a few cool tricks and games, or just relax and take in the awesome scenery of this special place. We explore the interesting geology of this impressive bedrock gorge and integrate Māori culture into the experience.
