Our riverbug tour starts at the iconic Poripori Water Holes on the Wairoa River near Tauranga. You can meet us at the river and we also offer a pick up service from Tauranga if you don't have own transport.

Kitted out in wetsuits, safety gear, funky webbed gloves and flippers, we carry our bugs to the river to try them out. It’s super easy to learn and loads of fun! 

Against a backdrop of native forrest we explore the Wairoa’s amazing geology drifting through deep pools, sliding between rocks and down small drops amongst the Wairoaʻs impressive pot-holes carved out of the bedrock by stones and water. Splash around, try a few cool tricks and games, or just relax and take in the awesome scenery of this special place. You'll learn how the elements shaped the bedrock and gain insights into the early human habitation and culture.
